Terroir & Savoir-Faire
The Magic of Ribera del Duero’s Terroir
At ALEVA, we believe that a wine with soul is born from a land cared for with respect and love. Our vineyard spans 20 hectares and is located at 900 meters (2,950 feet) above sea level in the heart of the D.O. Ribera del Duero. Tempranillo vines thrive in predominantly claylimestone soils with a high concentration of calcium carbonate. The cooler temperatures from the high altitude and northwest orientation, combined with annual rainfall below 400 mm, allow for a slow ripening process that preserves the grapes’ acidity and freshness.

Alejandro Fernández recognized the potential of this land and dedicated his life to nurturing it, teaching Eva the secrets that only time and experience can reveal.
Each harvest is a testament to this family wisdom. Following traditional methods and respecting nature’s cycles, at ALEVA, we work to ensure that every bottle is a faithful expression of our terroir and the savoir-faire passed down through generations.
At ALEVA, work is carried out exclusively with Tempranillo grapes. This variety, besides being the one that best expresses the character of this land, is the grape with which Alejandro Fernández revealed to the world the potential of Ribera del Duero. Each vine is tended with care: a wine with soul always begins in the earth.
